Honestly I don't think the mission structure being more linear or more free flowing needs to be something entirely consistent. Mission types vary a lot in what they have you do and it's only natural that (especially as objectives become more varied and in-depth,) you're going to have *some* missions where the conditions to fail are going to be more strict. I feel 5 leans into linearity a bit too hard, but that's also in part just because of how much more in-depth the missions are on average compared to the older titles in terms of what they have you do. Really so long as the missions are fun to play (which I would say describes most of 5's single player missions, linear or not,) as well as most of the missions from older titles. Being more linear never felt like it was a big issue. There's definitely some real stinkers in there, but you could say that about every GTA game.

You knkw, on Against All Odds you could have taken that truck blocking the pay n spray instead of looking around another car. Mod doesn't look so bad... If you remove everything related to hardened from it, kinda just vanilla+, I would maybe play it. Cars, collectables, clothes, and so on are pretty nice

In a way I'm surprised this mod isn't monetized. I remember seeing walkthroughs earlier this year on other channels and this mod always left the impression of being a lazy attempt to do Tightenedreas before the actual mod.

This mod would be cool if tightened didn't exist.

This mod falls into the trap a lot of "hardened for speedrunners" mods seem to do. Making things mildly inconvenient for speedrunners by blocking speedrun routes, which affects casual play almost nothing, and just giving enemies improved guns, throwing game balance out the window. There's no reason for Wrong Side of the Tracks dudes having AKs with that high accuracy. It doesn't make it hard, it just makes it so that you can't do neither the speedrun nor the intended strategy, and you only find this out when you're already dead. @englishben I am not surprised the gang territory was unchanged. This part of the game is controlled by the executable, it's not a script change. To make changes to it you either have to really know what you're doing with CLEO mods, or throw the gang territory minigame out and making your own version of it in script, which is a waste of time. Then again, every prop of random garbage probably took a minute to place, so that's an entire day that could be used to develop a better gang territory experience.

Comparing this to GTA SA The Challenged, it's absolutely night and day.

A lot of this mod obviously snorts glue but what he did with the cars is honestly cool. Seeing some forgotten LCS cars, tweaked vanilla cars, and some custom cars/traffic colors is a nice juxtaposition to the blue waffles that is the mission design

Aside from enemies with big guns, explosive cannisters and other junk everywhere. This mod doesn't change much.
